Inside the measurement sensor of the QR-300-TB-1 turbidity/sludge concentration controller, there is an integrated LED light source at a 45-degree Angle, which can emit near-infrared light of 880nm towards the sample. After the light beam is scattered by the suspended particles in the sample, the scattered light at a 90-degree Angle to the incident light is detected by the detector in this aspect and calculated. Thus, the turbidity of the sample is obtained. When measuring the sludge concentration, the scattered light at an Angle of 140 degrees from the incident Angle is detected by the rear detector in that direction. Then, the instrument calculates the signal strength detected by the front and rear detectors to provide the sludge concentration value.

Due to the near-infrared light of 880nm emitted by the LED, if there is color in the sample, it will not affect the measurement result.
